Julia is a small specialty coffee shop in Poblenou, Barcelona, where homemade food and attention to detail are part of the everyday experience. We wanted its identity to reflect that same personal care.

The idea came from tying a bow: a familiar gesture associated with giving, wrapping something for someone, and taking a little extra time. A ribbon became the starting point for the whole identity.

We formed the logo’s lettering by hand using real ribbon, then photographed it. Its natural curves, folds and texture became part of the design, preserving the physical character of the material.

From the wordmark to the wider visual language, the ribbon connects the identity, bringing the same handmade approach to the café’s graphics as Julia brings to its food.
