Dow Jones is a worldwide news and information powerhouse that brings the information that matters most to its customers. They asked us to help them redesign the logotype for MarketWatch. One of their stand-alone brands, it is a financial information website that provides business news, analysis, and stock market data.
We had to retain the existing brand colours and the dynamic essence of the old logo so we changed the typography and redraw the ‘M’ and the ‘W’. We made them more geometrical and inclined them. The arrow on the ‘W’ was kept and given a strong presence in the mark. We also decided to erase the symbol itself from the main mark to update the logotype and make it more contemporary.
