Wired

WIRED, the groundbreaking technology magazine, has a global monthly readership of more than 30 million people across their digital and print editions, social media, and live events. They asked us to work on a features opener for them and gave us a very open brief. They encouraged us to be a bit abstract and only insisted that the numbers on the page had to read 1216 to signify the December 2016 issue.

We decided to represent the numbers by using paper. The forms and shadows of folded papers created the shape of the four numbers. The colour palette was chosen to give a feeling of warmth and energy. The result is a quite abstruse composition that doesn’t immediately reveal its meaning to readers.
