Cervezas Alhambra

Cervezas Alhambra is a brewer that produces beer in Granada, Andalucía, since 1925. In 2016 Cervezas Alhambra renewed their brand strategy and visuals. Next year, as part of this updating, we worked on defining their new illustration style.

The world of images of Cervezas Alhambra should pay tribute to most classic printed advertising, the ‘affiche’, in which aesthetics were always above all other attributes, even the plausibility or conceptualization. So that, the style should also remind to old advert posters, more like an hand drawing artwork than a vector applied illustration.

Textures, gradients and soft geometric shapes, lines and curves defines this new illustration style for Cervezas Alhambra. Scenes in which desaturated colors and imperfections are protagonist.

The resultant illustrations conformed a serie of nine posters in which different Andalusian festivities and typical gastronomic situations are represented in simple shapes, flat perspectives and a balanced use of negative-positive spaces.
